Just like its mainstream sibling Toyota, the premium Japanese automaker Lexus is doing great across the North American region – both in terms of sales and customer hype, as it turns out.
In fact, Lexus is doing so well they indulge in all sorts of PR stunts – like naming pro surfer Griffin Colapinto as the luxury lifestyle brand's first-ever surf ambassador or endorsing the 2024 Lexus WSL Finals in San Clemente, California, among others. Of course, they're keeping one eye on product placement and the other on the actual models – they recently introduced new stuff like the limited-run Lexus RX 500h Black Line Special Edition as a returning package for the 2025 model year.
How about 2026MY? Well, that's not officially on the horizon just yet. Unofficially, the rumor mill and the parallel universes of vehicular CGI always have an opinion about what comes next, of course – including as far as Lexus is concerned. As such, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is hard at work trying to impress us with their unofficial, hypothetical visions of upcoming models.
The luxury automaker has a huge roster available in America – IS compact executive sedan with 500 F Sport Performance, ES and ES Hybrid, LS and LS Hybrid, the RZ all-electric crossover, plus the UX Hybrid, NX and NX Hybrid or PHEV, RX (plus RX Hybrid, 500h F Sport Performance, PHEV), TX (also with hybrid and PHEV models), the off-road GX, and the flagship LX.
Speaking of the latter, the current fourth generation was launched in late 2021 as the luxury counterpart of the full-size J300-series Toyota Land Cruiser, which is not available in North America. The classic V8 was also swapped in favor of modern twin-turbo V6 power, but only the 3.4-liter gasoline mill is offered in the United States under the LX 600 moniker. It packs 409 hp and 650 Nm or 479 lb-ft; Lexus certainly hoped to lift the stalling interest of its predecessor with these major changes.
Well, the realm of imagination doesn't necessarily care about sales, so the good folks over at the 3rbyat online info channel on YouTube have unofficially imagined the CGI looks of the upcoming Lexus LX facelift because design is always better than hard figures, right? Anyway, the resident pixel master has done a pretty good job with these renderings – which should always be taken with a grain of salt; don't forget about that.
So, the unofficial hypothetical changes include reworked head- and taillights, a smaller radiator grille with a new bar crossing between the front LED lamps, a different geometrical pattern for the grille (a subtler one), and a few interior changes like unifying the two central screens into a larger single unit. As always, there's also a host of unofficial color choices – both inside and outside, so you can easily select a favorite. Plus, the host is wondering if the facelift will finally bring a PHEV version into the lineup.
